ListRun vs ListingBott
Two directory submission services, compared on the six things that decide which one is worth buying, with every competitor figure read off their own page.
ListingBott is the incumbent and it is the safer purchase if you want the longest track record: it has been running since 2022, it curates its own directory set, and it owns premium directories it can feature you in. Buy ListRun instead if the thing you actually want is to be able to check the work. The published difference between them is not the price, though $9 or $19 once against $299 rising to $999 is a real gap, it is that ListRun publishes a row per directory with screenshots before and after, the listing URL where one was published, and an explicit marked row with a reason for every directory it could not submit to. ListingBott does not publish what you get back per directory. If you have ever bought a submission run and been unable to tell afterwards which listings actually went live, that row is the whole decision.
Directory submission services compared on the same 6 criteria
2 COLUMNS| CRITERION | LISTINGBOTT | LISTRUN |
|---|---|---|
| WHAT IT COSTS | $499 once, or $99 a monthThe standing one-off is "Pay With Stripe($499)" for 100 hand-picked listings, with "($999)" to add backlinks from the founder's own blogs. The cheapest door is a separate "Pay With Stripe($99)" beside copy reading "20 relevant online directories and websites monthly". The homepage also displays an early-bird ladder, "$299 first 100 users $399 first 1k users $499 first 2k users $999 after beta". That ladder is a launch discount rather than the standing floor, which is why this row prints $499 and not $299. StartupSubmit's own comparison table independently lists ListingBott at "100+ for $499". | $9 or $19, onceThe list itself and the count are free to read; the run is a one-off payment. |
| HOW MANY DIRECTORIES | 100, hand-picked"We handpick 100 most relevant directories for you", drawn from a database the page describes as "Over 12000 directories(+129 new directories this week)". The list itself is not published: "Full list of directories is our intellectual property that can't be shared publicly". | 123, of which 112 are free"123 directories on the list · 112 free to list on · 49 need no account", read from the live directory API on 9 September 2026. The list re-checks itself every morning, so this figure moves. |
| HOW LONG IT TAKES | About a monthThe published flow is a custom list within 2 days of the onboarding form, then "Publishing (1 month)", described as publishing your business daily for a month. | One runThe receipt is the run; there is no multi-week queue between paying and seeing rows. |
| PROOF PER DIRECTORY | One report at the end"we provide a detailed report listing all sites, directories, and forums where your site was featured", offered as a single document after the run rather than a row you can check per directory. | A row per directory, with screenshots"screenshots before and after each submission, the listing URL where the directory published one, and the drafted email or pull request for the ones with no form at all". |
| WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ONES THAT FAIL | Not published | Reported, with the reason"A captcha, a login wall or a block is worth zero, that row is marked, with the reason, and left alone." |
| DIRECTORIES THAT CHARGE | Excluded from the standard plan"Premium directories or paid options on third-party directories are not included in the standard ListingBott plan." | Never attempted"Directories that charge for the listing are never attempted at all." |
“Not published” means that company does not state the figure on the page cited in the rail. It is not a claim that no such figure exists. A company that publishes no limit most likely has none, but most likely is not a fact, and this table prints what was read rather than what was inferred.
HOW MUCH DOES LISTINGBOTT COST?
ListingBott publishes an escalating price rather than a fixed one: "$299 first 100 users $399 first 1k users $499 first 2k users $999 after beta". So the price depends on when you buy. It covers submission to 100+ directories in one click, from a handpicked set. Premium and paid third-party directories are explicitly outside it, "Premium directories or paid options on third-party directories are not included in the standard ListingBott plan".
WHAT DOES LISTRUN COST, AND WHAT IS FREE?
The directory list itself is free to read, including the counts, 123 directories, 112 of them free to list on, 49 needing no account, re-swept every morning. A run is $9 or $19 as a one-off payment. There is no subscription and no escalator.
HOW DO I KNOW A DIRECTORY SUBMISSION SERVICE ACTUALLY SUBMITTED ANYTHING?
By what it hands back per directory, which is the row most services do not publish. ListRun returns screenshots before and after each submission, the listing URL wherever the directory published one, and the drafted email or pull request for directories that have no form at all, so a row saying "submitted" can be checked. It also marks every failure with its reason: "A captcha, a login wall or a block is worth zero, that row is marked, with the reason, and left alone." ListingBott does not publish what per-directory proof it returns.
DO THESE SERVICES SUBMIT TO DIRECTORIES THAT CHARGE A LISTING FEE?
They differ, and it is worth knowing before you buy. ListRun never attempts them: "Directories that charge for the listing are never attempted at all." ListingBott excludes them from the standard plan, though it can feature relevant products in premium directories it owns. GetMoreBacklinks includes a "25 Paid Platform List" on its Advanced tier, which means part of what you are buying there is a list of places that will want more money.
